About us

At Piedmont Global, we believe our greatest achievements are reflected in the lives we help improve. Our Piedmont Global Cares Foundation enables us to stand with underserved communities, advancing equity, boosting economic development, and improving safety for those most in need. We invest in people everywhere— children and youth, immigrants and refugees, and marginalized individuals and groups.

Our commitment to our global communities goes beyond our core values of community, responsibility and impact. Through dedicated volunteerism and strategic grant-making, we connect individuals and groups to services and aid that drives impactful results, meaningful change, and ultimately builds stronger, more equitable and resilient communities worldwide.

Our global gocus areas

Immigrants and refugees

Immigrants and refugees

We recognize the unique challenges faced by immigrants and refugees, including displacement, cultural barriers, and limited access to essential services. By partnering with organizations specializing in language interpretation, integration programs, and psycho-social support, we amplify efforts to ensure their individual and collective dignity, safety, and long-term stability. Our role is to strengthen these partnerships and mobilize resources to create sustainable solutions for displaced populations.

Children and youth

Children and youth

Investing in children and youth is critical for breaking cycles of poverty and inequality. We collaborate with charitable, education, mentorship, and skills-development organizations to provide safe spaces, learning opportunities, and empowerment programs. Our focus is on ensuring that young people, especially those in underserved areas, have the tools, resources, and support to thrive. Through strategic alliances, we help build a future where every child has access to quality education and holistic development.

Marginalized communities

Marginalized communities

We work alongside grassroots and advocacy groups to promote equity, amplify voices, and expand access to rights and opportunities for communities facing systemic exclusion, as a result of ethnicity, disability, gender, ad/or economic status. By leveraging partnerships, we help dismantle barriers and foster inclusive growth, ensuring no one is left behind in the journey towards social justice.

Our Story is Your Story

The son of Somalian immigrants, Mohamed Hussein, CEO of Piedmont Global, grew up speaking Somali and Arabic in his youth in his northern Virginia home. As an adult he travelled to the Middle East, studying, teaching and eventually becoming a certified instructor and translator before returning to the United States and founding Piedmont Global on his 24th birthday while living in his parent’s basement.

Inspired by Mohamed’s personal journey, Piedmont Global Cares is deeply committed to providing the means necessary for communities to transcend, ascend, and thrive. Our philanthropy is grounded in a genuine love for humanity, a passion for service, and the belief that every person deserves access, opportunity, and protection.

Our company culture is founded on social responsibility and supporting the local and regional communities that we live and work in through volunteering, grantmaking, and forming partnerships equally dedicated to serving communities across the globe.

Philanthropy with a purpose

I grew up in a community that encouraged donating both time and resources. Volunteerism was essential to our growth and upbringing.

Despite numerous commitments and responsibilities today, I continue to volunteer my time to several organizations in varying capacities. In addition, I financially support several causes that I believe in and am passionate about, including food security, youth development, literacy, and health research. I am also passionate about supporting the causes that concern those I care about. I find an immense amount of personal fulfillment in this.

I want to encapsulate and scale this at the corporate level. Our work at Piedmont Global advances equitable access by helping individuals with limited English proficiency and the institutions that support them navigate language, culture, and operations. Piedmont Global Cares is a vehicle to build upon and expand beyond that to make an even more significant difference and impact in our communities and the causes we care about

We view communication and connection as human rights and invest in nonprofit translation services that foster global understanding and inclusion. As a leading provider of global language and business solutions, we host Piedmont Global Academy, our language interpretation training program that provides scholarships to aspiring linguists.  And we proudly support CLEAR Global, investing in nonprofit translation services that help eliminate language barriers worldwide.
